Why are our lights designed for 110V - 240V?

When choosing lighting fixtures, observant friends may find that many modern lighting fixtures (such as Petal Cream Pendant Lamp, etc.) are labeled with a voltage range of 110V -240V. This design is not accidental, but a clever consideration that integrates global applicability, technological development, and user needs. Today, let's talk about why lighting fixtures adopt such a wide voltage design.

Differences in Global Voltage Standards

Simply put, a voltage range of 110V–240V means that the lighting fixture can safely operate on any voltage between 110 and 240 volts. This encompasses the majority of residential and commercial power standards worldwide, such as:

  • 110–120V regions: United States, Canada, Japan
  • 220–240V regions: United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, most parts of Asia

This is what we refer to as a "wide voltage" or "universal voltage" design, allowing a single light fixture to be used globally without the need for complex voltage converters or additional equipment.

Support for technological progress

With the development of switching power supply technology and electronic components, the internal circuit of lamps can be optimized to adapt to a wider voltage range. The switch power supply used in modern lighting fixtures can automatically detect the input voltage and ensure stable output current for LED or other light sources by adjusting circuit parameters (such as PWM pulse width modulation). This technological breakthrough not only achieves wide voltage compatibility, but also improves energy conversion efficiency, reduces energy loss, and reduces damage to lighting fixtures caused by voltage fluctuations, extending their service life.

Optimization of user experience

For ordinary users, a wide voltage design means "worry free". There is no need to worry about whether the purchased lighting fixtures meet local voltage standards, nor is there a need to replace lighting fixtures for overseas travel or relocation. It can be plug and play, avoiding usage problems caused by voltage issues. In addition, the wide voltage design also enhances the adaptability of the lighting fixtures in areas with unstable voltage, such as some old communities or temporary electricity scenarios, reducing light flicker or component damage caused by voltage fluctuations and ensuring lighting stability.

Installation reminder

Although our lighting fixtures support wide voltage, we still recommend installation by professional electricians, especially when you need to perform hard wiring or custom installation. If you are unsure about whether the local plug is compatible or the installation method, please feel free to contact our customer service team at any time, and we will provide detailed advice.
